A local tree is created for every authority which subscribes to the esd-toolkit. Initially the local tree is identical to the core tree of services but this can be manipulated etc.
The main tree view is the Local Tree view, each subscribed authority has their own local tree which can be manipulated. The esd-toolkit uses various standards and links the Local Government Service List, Type List, Interaction List etc together enabling a local authority to flip their manupulated Local Tree into different views. For example the local tree can be flipped to a business category tree, What happens is all the processes are rearraged into appropriate tree.
The Local Tree view can be manipulated to the structure of your authority. By selecting specific processes you are able to provide detail on service, interaction, channel, volume, address, officer, customer profile and resource information, also you have the means of updating the Directgov website with information used to direct citizens to your authority, able to provide cost to access each service recorded by channel, with ‘what if’ calculations on the impact of channel shift.
