The Basket of Services provides the top services that different types of people would tend to use.

The "Basket of Services" came from the Phase 1 of the Customer Profiling Project and was a way of trying to identify the different patterns of service take-up between customers in each of the Mosaic profile groups.

The data on the basket of services is based on patterns of service usage identified from the profiled data of the 11 Local Authorities who took part in the Phase 1 Project together with other profiling work previously undertaken by Jacqui McNish.

For each group the 10 most commonly used services were identified (or in some instances groups of service - such as libraries, recycling etc..) - a "top 10" for each profile group.  The services included in the "baskets" are taken from a chosen grouping of key services (things such as benefits, libraries, recycling, housing etc.) rather than from the full LGSL as the intention was to identify differences (and similarities) in usage across these services between the groups rather than considering all services.
